v1.2 is out: multilingual calls, IVR navigation, auto-retry, and email summaries
This release tackles the four most common pain points users have shared with us — language barriers, getting stuck in phone menus, missed calls that go to voicemail, and losing track of what was discussed. Here's what's new.
1. AI speaks 4 languages during the call
Until now, CallBridge always spoke English during the call, even if you wrote your task in Chinese. That's fine when calling US businesses, but limiting if you need to call your Spanish-speaking dentist or Korean-speaking aunt's caretaker.
Now you pick two things separately:
- Call language: what the AI speaks to the recipient (English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean)
- Transcript language: what you read in the transcript and email summary
Voices use ElevenLabs' multilingual v2 model and sound natural to native speakers. See multilingual use cases →
2. DTMF dial pad — AI presses real numbers
Most AI calling tools generate voice but can't actually press buttons. They get stuck on "Press 1 for English". CallBridge sends real DTMF tones (the audio signals your phone keypad makes) directly into the call.
During an active call, the call detail page shows a 12-key dial pad. Every digit you press is transmitted instantly. The AI can also press digits on its own based on your task description.
This unlocks calls to airlines, banks, the IRS, the DMV — everywhere with deep phone trees. Read the IVR navigation guide →
3. Auto-retry on busy / voicemail / no-answer
About 1 in 5 calls would hit a busy signal or go to voicemail on the first try. We now automatically retry:
- 5 minutes later for busy signals
- 30 minutes later for voicemail or no-answer
- Up to 2 retries per call
A Vercel cron job runs every 5 minutes to fire scheduled retries. The original task, voice, and language are all preserved.
4. Email summary after every call
When a call ends, you get an email at your registered address with the full transcript and AI-generated summary, in your chosen language. Useful for forwarding to family members, sharing with a lawyer, or just keeping your own records.
Email comes from noreply@getcallbridge.net — DKIM/SPF verified so it doesn't go to spam.
5. Bonus: 14 pre-built call templates + saved contacts
Two smaller additions that make starting a call faster:
- Templates: 14 ready-to-use task descriptions across healthcare, restaurants, subscriptions, home services, government, and customer support. Click a template to fill the form.
- Saved contacts: save numbers you call repeatedly (your bank, doctor, gym) and pick from a list instead of retyping.
